IRONIC INTERVIEWS

The #PinkSection and Lindenwood Freshmen Experience

Today can be entitled as IRONIC.  As an aspiring entertainment talk show host, I am the one usually doing the interviews, but the tables have taken a turn for the good. Recently, I have had the opportunity to be interviewed twice in the same week. Amazing, right ?

The first interview was about my freshmen experience at Lindenwood University. I was offered to do this interview by the Vice President of Admission at Lindenwood University. It was unexpected, because I did not think of anyone wanting me to do an interview at the time. However, I was very wrong. The interview day came and I was excited and a little nervous. It started off as a written interview and I was asked questions like my first experience in the city of St.Charles, Mo, Freshmen Experience Week, the safety of the community, life as a college student, and the distance from home. From there, the interview then led to an on-camera interview. I pictured everything that was there, Lights, Camera, and Action!

The second interview was from the #PinkSection. #PinkSection is a blog ran by a friend of mine named Toni. I have known her since I was eleven years old. I was ecstatic to hear about her success in college and personal admiration .I was eager to do an interview for a friend of mine. The interview consisted of digital interview, written interview and footage for her video blog. The entire segment was very fun. I was asked about y life dreams, role models, makeup, boys, and the entire pageant experience as Miss Georgia Teen USA 2014. Followed by the interview were games, that consisted
of Hollywood questionnaires. Lastly the day ended with pictures and final catwalk finale showcase. I showed of my "diva" walk of a pageant.

Ultimately, this week has been a great time. I am glad to end off this semester with doing something fun an productive. Until next time.

Below attached video clips of various TED Talk conferences that relate to my interest

In the world of Journalism and Mass Communications the system is based on the entirety of humans. We as people control what the news is made of and how it can be viewed through media to the rest of the world. For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with broadcast journalism and the entertainment field. As a college student, I am eager to know how in the next couple years the journalism world would change. As listed above, included various TED videos that related to my topic of Journalism, Communications, Augmented Reality, and Sports.
I chose Sports and a TED video related to gender/race in the workforce.  I chose both of those, because I was intrigued to find out other people deal with being the minority in their occupation. In Sports Journalism, there are not many women, nor African American women at that. As an aspiring sports commentator, I was eager to see how in the present day and future, the gender/race element. In addition, the other videos are based on the major topic of Journalism.

Interest in Professional Career

I am a Communications Major with an interest in Broadcast Journalism at Lindenwood University. My goal is to obtain a Bachelor’s degree and pursue my dream of becoming a news reporter and later a news anchor for a major television network.
"Start in a small TV station so you can make all of your embarrassing mistakes early and in front of fewer people!"

As a young girl, I've always fantasized of becoming a news anchor. I live for the fast- paced environment, filled with studious minds, while working around the clock to make sure the public is informed on the news of the day. News Anchors are the voice for the untold stories, the narrator of the daily news that consume our minds, society and world. As a reporter, journalist or anchors, they are the curious minds of the world.
"If you're curious, you'll probably be a good journalist because we follow our curiosity like cats."

In closing, I understand the popularity of the career field with News Reporter/Anchor, however I am not afraid. I realize in life, people are going to want the same things as you, but you must believe in yourself. Do yourself justice by never giving due to who all wants the dream. In order to receive your destiny, you must want it bad enough you'll risk it all to have it.

A love for Broadcast -Philosophy of the Day

A love for Broadcast

As I drift off into my thoughts of the past, I realize i have always love broadcast journalism. Since, I was young girl I always wanted to become a news anchor. My professional interest has always been to be in front of the television screen providing real entertainment to the world. Lights, camera and action! The world of a news anchor/analyst is fast-paced, busy and enjoyable to those who can handle it. News Anchors are the first people you see in the morning and the last ones you see at night on television, usually. News anchors have the ability to share the important local and worldwide news to anyone across the world.
My wildest dreams have been accomplished by the thought of pursing all that comes to mind.
